Yarn Along

On my hook progress on my autumn wreath.  On my kindle The Beekeepers Apprentice by Laurie R. King.

I finished Dissolution shortly after posting last week’s yarn along and have to say I didn’t love it enough to jump into the next book in the series. Its hard to pick any fault with it but it didn’t blow me away.

So I started something new!  And this I do love!  I have long been a fan of all things Sherlock reading the abridged versions of the Conan Doyle when I was around 8 years old, progressing to the full novels as I got older and also lapping up the BBC’s Sherlock and the wonderful Jonny Lee Miller in Elementary.  The Beekeepers Apprentice has plenty of the familiar Sherlock and a heroine I like a lot called Mary Russell, it’s just fabulous.

My wreath cover is now onto the polystyrene ring and the next few weeks of crochet are likely to be leaves, lots and lots of leaves.  I’m really pleased with the way this is coming together and can clearly see in my minds eye how I want the finished wreath to look.

Linking up with Ginny.

  1. Love your wreath! I’m glad you’re enjoying “The Beekeeper’s Apprentice”! I’m a Sherlock fan too (and that includes “Sherlock” and “Elementary”) and I’m slowly making my way through the Laurie R. King books. I just finished book 4 a couple weeks ago. I didn’t enjoy book 2 as much as the rest, but I really loved “The Moor,” the one I just read.

    1. Thank you so much for this. I finished the beekeeper’s apprentice late last night and on reading some goodreads reviews this morning found that a few people thought the series peaked at book one. It’s good to hear others disagree.

  2. I adored this book when I first read it, and I’ve been meaning to do a reread of it. It’s so damn good! I enjoyed the subsequent sequels too. Can’t wait to see what you think!
