Weekly Photo – Artificial

One of the things I would like to work on in 2017 is my photography.   I am joining in for my third week with Nana Cathy and Wild Daffodil’s weekly photo challenge.

This week’s one word prompt is Artificial.

To one side of our home is a beautiful garden bursting with wildlife and natural wonders.  To other side is a large grey area mainly featuring tarmac.  Unfortunately the kitchen, the room I spend the most amount of time in, looks out on the grey side.

I fill the windowsill with colourful, natural items to brighten the view and have a bird table right outside the window, but as a general rule the birds also prefer the green, only occasionally gracing my view with their presence.

That is where the star of this week’s photo, my artificial robin comes in!  He has been sculpted from wire by the inordinately talented Helen Godfrey.  I would highly recommend having a look over the images on her Facebook page as she is a brilliant photographer as well as an amazing sculptor.  You can find it here.

It is wonderful when our resident robin pops onto the table for a meal worm and I can see both him and his replacement together but most of the time i make do with the artificial!
